Hathaway's Ex-BF Says Filthy Jail Making Him Sick

111308follieri.jpgLawyers for Raffaello Follieri, the disgraced Italian investor and ex-boyfriend of actress Anne Hathaway, are petitioning a judge to relocate him from his federal jail in Brooklyn because conditions there are so abysmal. In a letter to the judge obtained by the AP, they write: "He is in a windowless dormitory with approximately 120 other men. He says that he cannot eat because the food appears to be spoiled and that the toilet and shower facilities are unspeakably unsanitary. e.g., there is excrement in the shower and rats are roaming freely in the area. He says the stench is intolerable.'' According to lawyers, Follieri has a fever, blood in his urine, intestinal problems and difficulty breathing; he wants to be transferred back to the fancy Manhattan jail where he was held before being sentenced to 4 1/2 years for fraud.

I thought that Federal Pound Me In The Ass prison was supposed to be a country club.

    too.fucking.bad.

I'm having a really hard time feeling sorry for this guy.

Judging from the blood in the urine he may already have a boyfriend or two.

Hathaway, adorable as she is, is obviously a bimbo, the type that real men avoid like a sweet smelling plague.

  • NannyState

What he needs is a great big burly boyfriend to help him through those rough patches. I hope one finds him real soon.

    Don't care.

He should be moved to the Mamertine Prison in Rome and serve out his time there.

He's awaiting transfer to federal custody.

what the fuck is this guy complaining about? this shit sounds like my public school. And I had to go to it when I was 12

He should appeal his guilty conviction. He had poor council. His ex girl friend made him do what he did. He was insane. He was framed. etc. Given time he will repay all those that he f'''ed over. He looks like a really nice guy.

If he was convicted shouldn't he be moved from Metropolitan Correctional to a state or a fed pen?

"Don't do the crime if you can't do the time."

IS he expecting a fucking resort? It's fucking JAIL. Discomfort is the IDEA.

the lawyer that also commented a few above me said that living conditions are tolerable there. I tkae issue with that! Deter crime by making people scared to go!

Criminals these days rob a store, and then get to escape from their fat wives, their kids, all obligations of daily adult life, while getting properly prepared meals and a free education.

It almost makes me WANT to commit a crime.

"none of my clients ever complained about the conditions

Sure, but how many of them had been living in a $35,000/month apartment before they got there? Obviously this is much tougher on him than it would be on any of us mere normal people.

(Basically, anyway, that's the argument his lawyer made before sentencing in requesting leniency.)

  • Snoopy

Shouldn't Hathaway be bringing him some finger sandwiches with a delicate free range asparagus sauce done in a fragrant relieved frog dressing?

What's the matter Raffaello you don't like four month old Oscar Meyer Bologna sandwiches with Frenches mustard?

Pay back the money you lost other people with interest and then you can talk about taking a walk.

I only wish that more of your kind could see your pain close up.

i'm a criminal defense lawyer who has had many clients locked up at MDC, including young women and gay men. from their reports and my frequent visits there, i think incarceration in that facility, although not desirable, is totally survivable. none of my clients ever complained about the conditions although some said the food at MCC is better. what a wimp!
