French (Anarchist) Connection in Times Square Bombing?

2008_11_tsbomb.jpgBritish newspaper The Telegraph reports that 10 "alleged members of a violent anarchist movement" were arrested by French anti-terrorist police. The leader of the movement, which is suspected of sabotaging the high speed TGV train lines' cables, and his girlfriend are linked by the FBI to the Times Square bombing this past March. The couple allegedly "were carrying anarchist texts in English and photos of an army recruitment centre in New York." And: "Although they had left the US before the bomb attack, they had allegedly been spotted shortly before at American anarchist meetings in New York." Dun dun DUN! Who's still reading the Post?!?

"anarchist meetings"!?!

i find it hard to believe that any self-respecting anarchist would show up to a meeting.

Does a firecracker constitute a bombing?

Oh, "bombing" sells more newspapers.

what part of that is evidence? it's not illegal, nor is it evidence of anything, to carry anarchist texts nor to show up to a political meeting.

I think they have the wrong army recruitment center, ours isn't spelled with a backwards "re".

#2 - Why not? They all seem to find their way to Critical Mass with no issues...

if these french anarchists had left the US before the Times Square 'bombing', then why are they being implicated by the sensationalist press?

French Anarchist? How many French actually have balls? Just these 2 clowns?

This just in: Possession of a photo of one of the most photographed places on the planet is now evidence that you might have set off a bomb there. Hide your WTC snapshots.

Right when anarchists are starting to make some headway in the government, these assholes mess it up.

*Smell that? I farted some irony.*

7: Cause the FBI has no other leads, apparently.

The Daily Telegraph doesn't go for sensationalism, it prefers to go with the facts, and obviously it had reason enough to report that conclusion.

Oh, noes...not the anarchists! Good thing these "terrorists" are nice enough to carry around photos of their targets. What, no pictures of bin Laden in their rent-a-car? The cops are slipping.

Does a firecracker constitute a bombing?

That was some firecracker. Why don't you stand two feet from one when it goes off then tell us how harmless it is?

Their next target: the heir to the throne of the Austro-Hungarian Empire.

Vive le resistance!
