Pulse Park is Lighting Up Midtown

Rafael Lozano-Hemmer’s Pulse Park in Madison Square Park is still lighting up through November 17th. Smack dab in the delicious location that also houses Shake Shack, we highly recommend going to check it out. You'll encounter a small line of folks waiting to hold a heart monitor device that immediately sets off the circle of lights; each person's speed and pattern is determined by their heartbeat. Here are some photos incase you miss out. Now if only they'd get on the ice skating rink bandwagon...

This looks awesome, which is more than I can say for the tree huts that are still up in Madison Square Park. They are the most pointless "art installation" I have ever seen.

Did I miss something? Since when is 23rd and Madison considered part of Midtown?

34th is the southern boundary of midtown. Last I checked, most people think of the area around Madison Square as the Flatiron.

Blogs can be fun, but fact-checking -- qu'est-ce que c'est???

In my formative years in the Bronx, anything south of Central Park was called Downtown.

truly magnificent photo

they should have timed it to the wait of each persons order after finally receiving that vibrating beeper in the shake shake line.

wonderful perspective of park and flatiron with that photo!

That Rem Koolhaas skinny piece of shit just ruins the architectural balance of the nabe. Now we gotta build something else. *sigh*
