A 26-year-old mother of two in Paterson died early Saturday morning after being struck by an SUV in a hit-and-run following a fight. Natalie Mestre had come outside her apartment around 2 a.m. to check on the altercation involving a group of women taking place out front. There she and five of the other women were hit by the Mercury Mountaineer being driven by Keema Green. Green has been arrested and charged with causing death by motor vehicle while driving with a suspended license. Those charges may be upped to manslaughter following an investigation. There's no word on what caused the skirmish that took place, but police say that Mestre was just a bystander.

First you wonder why Paterson NJ is being mentioned in Gothamist, but then you hear this story and you realize that Paterson NJ seems extremely ghetto.

Why don't people just stay inside during a fight? She didn't deserve it, but absolutely could've avoided it.
I know the driver, she was being beaten up by a mob of people at the time. Seeing her after the fact it is a wonder on how she was able to actually get away. she sustained a terrible beating. her disfigurement would lead one to believe that she should have been unconcious. her eyes and face is still so swollen she can hardly even see. this is a sad situation for both victums the mother of 2 and the driver but NJ stand up and look for the ones that jumped the driver to the point where she was fleeing to save her life and horribly misfortuned that other lives was taken and injured.
THE DRIVER AND I KNOW SOME OF THE SAME PEOPLE. I'M WONDERING WHAT WAS THE CAUSE OF HER GETTING HER ASS WIPED. WAS SHE MESSING AROUND WITH SOMEONES MAN?? HOWEVER I HOPE THE OFFICIALS AREN'T GOING LIGHT ONHER DUE TO HER MOTHER BEING A NYPD OFFICER. IF THAT WAS ANYONE ELSE BAIL WOULD HAVE NOT BE GIVEN, SHE WAS FIGHTING (DISORDERLY CONDUCT) DRIVING WITH A SUSPENDED LICENSE, THE CAUSE OF SOMEONES DEATH AS WELL AS 5 OTHER BEING HURT. INSTEAD OF CALLING THE POLICE SHE WENT TO THE HOSPITAL??? IF SHE WAS A VICTIM IN THIS SHE WOULD OF CALL THE POLICE AS SOON AS SHE WAS SAFELY OUT THE AREA. THERES'S SOMETHING FISHY GOING ON. THERE SHOULD BE SOME PICTURES POSTED TO SHOW SHE WAS BEATEN AS BADLY AS THE STORY STATES.
