Here are some photos of the locks in 2007 I just stumbled upon.

More photos from "A Molho's flickr."

Here is what Alan had to say to Wooster Colective back in 2004 about his locks.

A year later Wooster had more photos.

A Poetry Brothel? And to think I've been trolling this site like a cheap whore looking for some decent prose.

Those locks are on Mott btw Prince and Spring. They are done by Allan Molho, who has some up elsewhere in the neighborhood. If I recall correctly, some have been up for 15 years. Those above have been up for at least a few years. Wooster Collective has a bit of information about his work here: www.woostercollective.com/2005/06/a_new_installation_of_l...

The locks in the photo above used to have little baby pictures on them, as he uses tiny little photos to decorate all this locks. I first noticed the paint on these locks about 4 weeks ago, and that was a surprise to me. They might have been painted over for quite some time, I am unsure. Nor is it clear who painted him, Allan or someone else.

This is as good a time as any to roll out the Gothamist Investigates column
