>>>And did three armed robbers on Long Island really just break into someone's home in order to steal their jug of coins?
Well, it could happen. A couple of years ago I had about 7 or 8 coffee cans and jam jars worth of coins saved, because it was a pain in the neck to deposit or cash them. Then Commerce Bank got those automatic counting machines, I brought the cans and jars in, and I found I had about $1000 worth.

Several years ago I got robbed. In addition to the TV and the stereo, the mutts got a parka and several rolls of coins I had in a drawer.

In 1982, they broke the window into my car in lower Manhattan to steal 3 quarters I left on the driver's seat.
The window cost $150 to fix.
I still prefer that to the barhopping B&T jerks and Eurotrash who roam the street outside my house now.
Good news. The NY Times is in dire financial straits. I hope they go out of business soon.
If the Times jettisons all its Boston garbage, and streamlines itself, a certain Michael Bloomberg will probably buy it. You heard it here first.
