Last Night's Action: Back On Track?

2006_10_srangerslogo.jpg

  • Rangers 5 Tampa 2: New York got off to a great start against the Lightning in Prague and they will hope that their third win of the season over Tampa will get them back on track. The power play certainly looked better with Chris Drury netting two goals on it and Ryan Callahan scoring as well to make it a three-goal night with an extra man. Drury ended up with a hat trick and Marc Staal scored his first goal of the season. Henrik Lundqvist had a big night in the net, stopping 36 of the 38 shots he faced.
  • Atlanta 4 Islanders 3: This was another tough loss in what is shaping up to be a very tough season. Up 3-1 entering the third, the Islanders surrendered a goal just 29 seconds into the period and another one a minute later that tied the game. Atlanta added one more to win the game and send New York home with another frustrating loss.

Maybe the Isles should get the league to rid of the third period. They're pretty good in the first two (although, they did have a pretty good third against the Rangers on Tuesday)! Go Isles!

Good thing the Isles fired Ted Nolan. He was a cancer to the team...

Lunqvist absolutely robbed Lecavalier after Drury scored his short handed goal. Nice game by the Rangers.

Malik got booed every time he touched the puck and cheered every time he got a penalty.
