Today's newspaper front pages are less exciting than yesterday's President-elect Obama covers, now that the reality of dealing with the worst economy in decades, two wars, and uniting the whole country is setting in. However, Newsday (above) has a wrapped cover, with Obama's image on the front and back.
After the newspapers went back to the presses to keep up with demand, the NY Times has now made yesterday's copy available to anyone willing to pay $14.95 on their website (much cheaper than the eBay prices, which are up to $150). Meanwhile the Chicago Sun-Times, whose cover was held up by Oprah Winfrey yesterday, is making sure everyone can get a copy.
Update: For anyone who wants a copy of yesterday's Daily News: Call (800) 692-6397 (Mon-Fri, 5 a.m. to 5 p.m.; weekends 5 a.m. to 11 a.m.) to order back copies of the November 5th editions – specifically, the “City Final” edition for that date (copies are subject to availability). Cost is $5, including shipping and handling; they take credit cards and/or electronic check payments. The number on weekdays from 5 A.M. to 5 P.M., and on weekends from 5 to 11 A.M. It will take about two weeks to deliver. There may be a slight wait when you call, depending on call volume.

Damn! Fifteen dollars for a newspaper!
I still can't believe California voted Yes on 8 and No on 5. Seriously, what gives.
According to exit polls, the real villains of Prop 8 were actually African American voters, who should know better than most what it's like to be oppressed and denied rights. How did that happen?!
Oh well, Obama said he will repeal the Defense of Marriage Act, which will make same-sex marriages recognized more widely anyway.
I just can't imagine all the people whose dreams it is to get married in California who have to leave their home to exchange vows. So sad.
Jen, do you know if the Daily News will also make their November 5th edition available today? I went to no less than 10 newsstands yesterday and wasn't able to get my hands on one. And I really want one (well, make it two)!
I just hit print screen on the nytimes website yesterday, I'll have my grandkids bring that to antiques roadshow in 50 years
Check ebay for really sick prices. Charging $149.99!!!!!! Another one has a bid up to $122.50!???? Don't people know NY Times is selling them right on their web site.

Disgusting. The newest thing know is to get a whole bunch of stuff and sell it to make a profit on ebay. Maybe that's why people had a hard time finding the times yesterday. I wonder how many people brought 2-3-4-5-6+ copies.
What gives, New York Post? This is the mother of all lammo headlines. Bamelot?
Yes on 8 and No on 5, the will of the people.
