Yeah it's a weird snarky article. Why "a large African-American woman" - the only physical description in the article? Why not "tall" or "happy" or "beautiful"? And she didn't convince people to chant. We chanted "Dionne '08" because she organized the thing and it was an unbelievably cool way to celebrate the election. Actually I'd never met Dionne. I was there (front and center in the photo) because I got an invitation. After writing to Spencer and asking. And sending in a photo. Because he's actually more of a serious artist than a party trick. And the Hasidic fellow - actually a nice guy it turned out - was hardly eager to strip. I'll never forget him; off to the side, stripped down to his knee-length white underpants and yarmulke, crouched between two armchairs with his body facing the wall and his head swiveled around as far as it would go, his face lit up with amazement as he looked at Karl Rove's most horrible naked multiculti liberal artsy nightmare get naked and crow in pleasure as we got ready to elect Obama. Boo-yah.

Hi All, I'm Dionne. I'm Evon in the NY Mag article, not because I wanted to be but because I guess the reporter didn't care to actually speak with the party's organizer. Anyhow, it was a great event on Tuesday. Spencer is beginning a new body of work called, Party. If you're familiar with his work there are typically hundreds to thousands of participates (18,000 in the Mexico City installation). "Party" will focus on smaller, more intimate settings. So there were about 60 of us at Soda and actually more women then men. If you're interested in participating in something like this sign up on Spencer's website (www.spencertunick.com). And don't worry, I brought Lysol and anti-bacterial Wet Ones for the tables...
