Disgraced ex-governor Eliot Spitzer is off the hook! After a lengthy investigation, the United States attorney in Manhattan, Michael J. Garcia, says his office has found no evidence that Spitzer misused public or campaign funds to pay the Empire Club VIP for prostitutes. And while it is a federal offense to transport women across state lines "for immoral purposes"—which Spitzer definitely did—Garcia decided that "the public interest would not be further advanced by filing criminal charges in this matter." In a statement, Spitzer said, "I appreciate the impartiality and thoroughness of the investigation by the U.S. Attorney's Office, and I acknowledge and accept responsibility for the conduct it disclosed. I resigned my position as Governor because I recognized that conduct was unworthy of an elected official. I once again apologize for my actions, and for the pain and disappointment those actions caused my family and the many people who supported me during my career in public life."

Let's leave him alone. He didn't kill or maim anyone. I also believe, had he remained Attorney General, he might have done some good with this Wall Street mess. There are more dangerous villains. The punishment that his family received is something he will have to live with for the rest of his life.

This is weird. Right before Spitzer went down, I was being stared at by a building right behind me as someone was on the roof of the building looking into my apartment.
Today I went by the building and was reminded of this episode at approx the same time as when this news was announced inside my head.
I come back home, turn on the news, and I find the story.
Stock market also tanks and I contemplated suicide today since I feel really sick because I got hurt and also am facing financial difficulties.
Obama was elected President and Spitzer was not charged, and Patterson is governor and the state govt went more democratic as well as the federal government.
So Spitzer has no loss here, in fact the opposite is true, he was acquitted and the system got more democrats in place.
Can someone please explain to me WTF is going on with Spitzer's mouth?

WTF does that really mean in terms of any other person breaking the same federal law? I guess that means it's ok?
