Ugh. I went there the other night to wait for my husband to bring the car around (we were at the Zipper Factory down the block). It was okay, but full of stockbrokers and the staff was not particularly friendly. I would suggest killing time at the Distinguished Wakamba (unless you're low on cash), the Zipper (they have a bar), or the Holland (on Ninth near 39th).

I miss Chock full of Nuts too. Remember the grumpy old lady waitresses with white caps with hairnets? The snaky counters? It was all counters. The funny food they had, like a cream cheese sandwich on raisin bread. And then they introduced a burger (in 1977) that I swear was the most delicious, juiciest burger in the world with lettuce and tomoato and sauce dripping down your hands. Mmmmm! I used to go to the one on Union Square, 14th Street. Cheap! We need that now, more than this stupid hipster bar!
