A special investigative grand jury listened to testimony from a man who accuses four police officers of assaulting him at a Brooklyn subway station. Michael Mineo claims that the officers, who were trying to bust him for smoking pot, pulled down his pants and sodomized him with a radio antennae on October 15. Though the NYPD initially denied the charges, the Brooklyn DA's office convened the grand jury, a transit cop came forward to support Mineo's claim, and the police suspended the accused cops. And today the Daily News reveals that the NYPD has had to shell out $50,000 to settle excessive force charges against one of the accused cops. The NYPD's comment: "The settlements were in the best interest of all parties."

It's starting to look ilke the antenna might be stinky after all.
Hopefully the cops took his rectal temperature during the antenna insertion.
2 birds with 1 stone right?
$50,000 just one year alone. If NYPD had learned its lesson, that would have been the end of that cop's career. But NYPD never learns, and taxpayers have to shell out for their stupidity.
exactly! ^
I commend Mr. Mineo and the transit cop for their bravery in speaking out about this. Cops can be very scary (and a few of them are psychopathic).
$50k buys a lot of tattoos (and pot.)
50k might pay his lawyers and sharpton's fees.
He'll get 10k, spend it on a years worth of H and be back in the clink by next thanksgiving.
Dude, this mothefucker is gonna get P.A.I.D! No 50 grand. Try millions.
