• A Long Island man pleaded guilty to selling heroin to a woman who overdosed. The dealer injected the woman at a Hicksville doughnut shop; when she left, she collapsed.

• The death of a former CNN producer found in her Financial District apartment with her 2-year-old daughter was caused by an accidental cocaine overdose.
• Greenpoint restaurant Paloma—which served amazing stuffed Poblano peppers, by the way—is closed after a bad fire broke out during McCain's concession speech Tuesday night.
• A Brooklyn-raised Marine sergeant and his wife were tortured and killed in California--and four men under his command may be suspects.
