I honestly think it's more fucked to invade people's privacy, than for them to kill a few beers. Especially when it's just a few beers.

The point is, these guys are carrying around guns and ferrying around prisoners in a close quarters environment. The last thing we want is for them to be remotely impaired. Now if they could only take away their parking placards.....

"One officer drank up to six beers during his lunch hour on 13 occasions." This is pretty ambiguous language (I know it comes from the Post article).. this guy could have had 6 beers once, and no beers all the other 12 times they observed him, and the statement would still technically be true. This doesn't excuse any of the drinking, of course.
