  • Islanders 2 Rangers 1: Give Joey MacDonald the bulk of the credit for this win. Through two periods, MacDonald stood in and stopped a furious Rangers’ barrage, as he stopped all 29 shots he faced. MacDonald’s heroics kept the game scoreless and gave the Islanders a chance to find their rythym, which they did with two short-handed goals in the third period. Nate Thompson scored just three minutes into the third period and Richard Park scored five minutes later to give the Islanders a 2-0 lead. MacDonald finally surrendered a goal when Markus Naslund scored, but there were only two minutes left in the game and the Islanders prevailed.
  • Phoenix 114 Nets 86: This was an ugly game. The Suns shot 63% from the field and the Nets only managed nine points in the fourth quarter. Vince Carter had 19 points in the loss.
