Barack Obama's Presidential Win, Covered

In a moment, yesterday's lines and waits to vote are a mere memory as people struggle to get copies of today's post-election newspapers as keepsakes. We're hearing that many newsstands are sold out!

NYC the Blog's Paolo Mastrangelo tells us:

The news stand on the corner of 145th and St. Nicholas, which consists of a gentleman who sets up two tables every morning to sell the newspapers, has been sold out since 5:45 am. He sets up at 5:30am and has all the daily newspapers, including Spanish language dailies, the Financial Times, and a smattering of other local newspapers such as the Amsterdam News. He informed me that he sold out of just about everything.
Which makes us wonder: Are the local papers going back to the presses to run off additional copies? At any rate, the news magazines will be putting out special election issues.

Damn, I should have bought some. People are already selling them on ebay for good money.

Now Obama says he's gonna need another 4 years before the "change" happens. Oh well! At least Wall Street will be healthy now. What's that? No? Well, surely, the world is less aggressive and loves us now? Oh, not that either? Sigh.....

well finally young black youth will have a proper role model rather than hip hop and nba douchebags who could care less about them

We all did it, this victory could not happen without the people being united.

    UWS sold out! Completely.

except for the odd Post blowing with the trash.

What's wrong with the Post's coverage! I don't need a wrap around special feature to know who won last night. A real collector's item will be the day after Election Day 2012 edition of the NYPost with Presdient Sarah Palin on the cover, better reserve your copies today folks!

Am I the only one that thinks news media should put more pictures of peoples of all races celebrating, not only african-americans?

I mean this is a big breakthrough for all races, I think. And the fact that people from all different backgrounds support this man IS the real cause for celebration.

Even overseas, people are celebrating because it's a sign of a different mentality.

ppl at the newstand referenced above have noted that they heard the newspapers are sending out another run. as well, you can always hit ebay, obvs they are already being made available there.

And lastly, you can contact the newspapers directly and they will send you a copy for cover price. The FT did that for me once when I needed a few copies and I only paid cover price, no shipping.

With the Internet you don't even need to buy the paper and keep it. I used to keep the newspapers, but then it's like you put it away and never see it again. Even if you want to keep it better make sure it's in a air shut bag or else the paper turns yellow and starts to smell.

I bet some copies of the newspapers will be selling on ebay.

I can believe that because if her daughter didn't know who Obama was, that daughter must be really sheltered. even my nephew was saying Eff you Mccain whenever he's on the tube.

  • babyhitler

#21- that didn't really happen. the gop wrote that for her to say and she rehearsed it all day yesterday to be sure.

  • GOP

You mean to tell me people acquire keepsakes solely for their sentimental value and not to resell on Ebay?!?!?!?!?!! ZOMG!!!!!!!

  • JacqueMehoff

hasselbeck was quite gracious. mentioned her daughter asking who's Obama and she stated that's our president. asked who lost and hasselbeck said no one lost, we all won.

  • ganghiscon

Maybe these people actually want to KEEP their keepsakes and not sell them in 20 years and, therefore, don't care if they're worth anything?

  • JoeSchumacher

At my local newsstand there were only one or two copies of the Times, News, WSJ and spanish newspapers but a whole stack of Posts.
