My husband was a vegetarian far before I met him. We've both been vegetarians for over 15 years and he was involved in the animal protection movement for a long time. Don't make assumptions; there are plenty of men out there who don't have to eat meat to feel manly and un-"panzy"-like.

I don't judge others for their choices. I just don't want to see a dead pig staring at me on the front page of Gothamist.

I sense that your husband is only going along with the vegetarian gig in order to placate your apparent militant vegetarianism, which I don't blame him, husbands have to make sacrifices for their overbearing wives. But when your not looking, I'm sure he heads down to the nearest steakhouse and orders a medium-rare double porterhouse for two, just for himself.

As a fellow man, I feel his pain. How dare you keep a man from his precious meat? How DARE you Ma'am?? It is known that vegetarians have issues with getting their daily nutrients and vitamins due to their eating habits. This is because humans are meant to eat meat (Although, they shouldn't eat too much of it)

I believe its possible to be an environmentalist & be a meat eater at the same time. You just have to look for free range cattle meat, which is not so mass produced.

"Enjoy your pig."

Oh, I will. I WILL.

"Eat some meat you panzy. Be a MAN.
And if your a woman, eat meat anyway."

It's "you're", not "your", you "panzy" (also misspelled), and yes I am a woman.

I really try not to push my beliefs on others, but I prefer not to be assaulted by an image like this on a website I read daily.

And I hope that all of you proud carnivores don't also portray yourselves as environmentalists, because the meat industry in this country has the single biggest negative impact on our planet of any industry. It takes over 100 lbs of grain to make 1 lb of meat and the pollution runoff from pig farming is nearly destroying the water supply in the southwestern U.S. Going vegetarian is the best thing you can do for yourself and the planet. My husband and I are both proud vegetarians.

Enjoy your pig.

Gothamist not publishing such pictures won't magically bring the animals back to life, or change our culture.

"At least 4 times a year"? Oh no! Deal with it.

Jesus christ, do you have to put those pictures on the front page all the time? At least four times a year I have to see pictures of a whole cooked pig on Gothamist. Please have some sensitivity toward your readers who prefer not to eat or kill animals.
