Knicks Vote to Stay The Same; Stick Marbury to Bench

2008_10_marburybench.jpgOn Election Day, vote for the Knicks as the most naïve organization in sports. The Knicks met with Stephon Marbury on Monday and told him they are not going to play him or even dress him for games unless someone gets hurt. Amazingly, Knicks’ management seems to think this problem will now be resolved. Mike D’Antoni told the media, "Pretty soon that story is not going to be fun to read because it is going to be the same old story. You are going to be beating a dead horse.”

Sorry Mike, the press loves to beat dead horses and Stephon is not going to be happy sitting on the bench all year when he is a free agent at the end of the season. He has asked the Players’ Association for advice and while he is playing the good soldier now, it is easy to see this turning ugly soon. Donnie Walsh can say that this issue is “closed” but as long as Marbury is still on the Knicks it won’t be.

    gotta love BH's comments.

i think they should stick marbury out there for 1 quarter a game with jerome james, malik rose, a hurt eddy curry, and nate robinson in which mike d'antoni instructs him to launch 3's only beyond 35 feet. he'll want to quit after a few games.

Lebron James WILL play for NY. Too bad it'll be in 2015 and he'll be past his prime and the Knicks will have overpaid again.

  • whitecastlerock

There isn't a chance in hell Lebron will come here. Anywhere else but NY has a better chance at a title...

  • nomnomnom

@babyhitler After this season, the Knicks do a sign/trade for LeBron and pay him the $29.56 million they save on Marbury and Malik Rose.

  • JenChungsBaby

While I love the idea of humiliating Marbury every night in public and hurting his free agent chances for after the season, the Knicks should just release him and pay his salary while he plays for another team. Because he'll drag down whatever team he's on. If they're really lucky the Celtics would pick him up.

  • whitecastlerock

This is just retarded. Let him play 15 minutes a night. Considering the starting lineup, what harm would it do?

  • babyhitler

Oh Yeah, Lebron James makes 14 million a year. Lebron James is worth 10 stephon marbury's.

  • babyhitler

Dude makes 21.9 million dollars a year. Second Highest in the league! Marbury get a higer salary than Kobe Bryant, Dirk Nowitzki, Tim Duncan and Paul Pierce! WTF? Stephon and Isiah must have crazy pictures of James Dolan with a mexican donkey or something, that's the only explanation.
