"I Voted" and...Didn't Even Get a Sticker

ivotedsticker1008.jpgFeeling cheated because you didn't get your "I Voted" sticker? We called up the Board of Elections to check in on this very important situation, and they told us they don't think New York City has ever handed out the little badges of civic duty. When's the last time you received one? Vote "yes" to bring them back in four years, but for now, you can make your own -- one Flickr user has provided a Hi-Res photo of her sticker, just print it out and tape it on! Over in DC, each jurisdiction has a different design!

I never received the sticker in NYC or NYS.

  • Funny that Starbucks, Krispy Kreme, and Ben and Jerrys require an "I voted" sticker for the freebies they're giving us today.

I took my two kids with me to vote (in jersey) and we all got stickers.

yes, stickers are a waste of paper and money but they should either make election day a national holiday or do it during the weekend. then the line would not be so long and more turnout. They should modernize elections and make it uniform throught the states.

I know this is an important election and all....but the enthusiasm some people here are showing for a damn sticker is.....well...just think about that for a second!

I've been voting in NYC for more than ten years and never seen or been offered an "i voted" sticker or anything like it.

In California we got to keep these little stubs that came off our ballots.

I've never gotten a sticker in NYC, but always got one in FL. I missed having one on, so I made my own.

I only ever got a sticker the one time I voted in DC. I never got or even saw one in NYC.

r1b2- I signed up for a free button as well; last week I got an email explaining something went wrong at the post office. Whatever. There was an offer to express mail one to me but I didn't think it was necessary to use campaign money for that.

My button came yesterday though! Woo!

At 360 adams, they are handing out stickers. I'm wearing mine proudly.

I got one in Prospect Heights. It's the first time I have ever gotten a sticker! I'm not sure it will make it through the day though, I wish it was a little stickier.

    I'm upset that I didn't get a sticker either!

I agree with stickers because they might encourage others to vote. It's difficult to escape this particular election because the media is all over it, but say in a primary, people who may have otherwise forgotten to vote might see someone who has a sticker, be reminded, and go and vote.
