On Eve of Election, Obama's Grandmother Dies

Barack Obama's campaign announced that his grandmother, 86-year-old Madelyn Dunham, passed away Sunday night. Recently Obama took time off the campaign trail to visit her one last time. He and his sister Maya Soetoro-Ng issued a statement, calling her "the cornerstone of our family, and a woman of extraordinary accomplishment, strength, and humility. She was the person who encouraged and allowed us to take chances.” John McCain offered his condolences to the family, "Our thoughts and prayers go out to them as they remember and celebrate the life of someone who had such a profound impact in their lives." Obama and Soetoro-Ng also thanked people for the flowers and cards sent to Dunham in recent weeks; they added they would hold a small private ceremony for her at a later date.

Of course there's time enough for Obama to rest. He can't do anything until he's sworn in in January anyway, and then it takes a few weeks more to actually get started. It'll be a long, hard slog anyway. A mess like this can't be cleaned up overnight. It'll take years, if not decades, especially the Supreme Court fiasco.

I can understand how Dubya is totally oblivious to his standing as the worst president in decades if not all American history. But Laura Bush is supposed to be at least a little bit intelligent. She must be chugging the Kool-Aid by the gallon.

After Tuesday, I'm hoping that President Obama and his First Lady, Michelle Obama will take a week off in Hawaii to pay last respects to his beloved grandmother and to decompress a bit before coming back to undo 8 years of absolute and utter shit by that gang of vandals. Grandma Dunham was the rock of that family. Obama's Marxist/bigamist father fled when O was a kid, his own mother dumped him in Hawaii (twice) & went on to study habits of Javanese tribal black-smiths. Dunham was the most appealing person in that whole clan.

Again, you don't get it. Read the book, read the original story in context, and only then are you qualified to have an opinion on Barack's relationship with his grandmother. Until then you are just spouting crap that you absorbed from some blogger.
