Congratulations to all the volunteers that help make this such a world-class event. To all the folks who ran in the middle of the pack, good show. Got to help my kids hand out some Gatorade today. I like kara goucher, a nyc success story, leave NYC and success! was rooting for her during the televised olympic trials. I don't like watching the televised nyc marathon because I think al trautwig is a dikhead. but I did watch the Team NOVA/Tufts NOVA show on regular people training for the Boston marathon.

To Babyhitler....The writer of the article was clearly writing this item as the marathon was happening, so had more time to focus on the Women. When you read it you can see this. I hate conspiracy idiots like yourself. Anyway well done Paula, the best British long distance runner of our generation, Male or Female.

There's nothing wrong with celebrating the accomplishments of the women who compete, not by any means. Running a marathon is a huge accomplishment for anyone. What is a bit odd - not wrong, just odd - is giving much more attention to the women's winner.

I think the marathon is one of the best spectator events in NYC. It's really fun to see how many people from all over the world come to run NY. I never miss it.

Peter: Seriously? Is it really that amusing to you? Is it so hard for you to see the joy in this outstanding event without immediately trying to point out what you feel is wrong with it? Jesus, dude, f'in lighten up already. In a world where men get most of the attention, can't you just let this one go? Keep it to yourself next time. I find all the runners completely outstanding—male, female, legless, whatever. Amazing people.

It's rather amusing that the top women finishers get more media attention than the top men, even though the men are considerably faster.
