I hate the new york marathon. Show-offs. If I had a nickle for every co-worker who brags about "I ran a marathon"... Sheesh. Just go JOG if you get such a fucking kick out of it.

That race was so so great. I hope they do it again next year.

Part of me has to agree with arf_arf_arf. I can give a lot of credit to people who did it, but you hear people that won't shut the fuck up about it. It's as if they only did it for bragging rights. *yawn*

1 and 3, if someone else brags to you about it, ask them "What was your time?", then give them a sneer when they tell you. They'll usually shut up about it afterwards.

I could care less about the hordes of people who run it just to say they ran it...well, that is if you call it "running". I have a few friends who place in the top 50 of American runners, so it's exciting to see them do it. But, for the people dressed as clowns and barely moving faster than walking pace, I don't really care.

Thanks for the usual assortment of wet blanket comments!

That's pretty absurd. Running a marathon is a pretty difficult thing to do, and takes months and months of hard preparation, so they will probably talk about. If you're running a marathon, it has to be a major focus of your life during training as it effects the way you eat, sleep and spend a big chunk of your time. What's wrong with someone who runs and is proud of that fact?
