Last Night's Action: Perfect Season Over

2008_10_knicks31.jpg76ers 116, Knicks 87: The Knicks aren't the only team in the Atlantic Division that can put up the points. Philadelphia held New York to an ugly 33% from the field and Mike D'Antoni wasn't able to find a single player on his bench to give the team a spark, despite trying except Eddy Curry. The 76ers also out rebounded the Knicks 61-43 and forced the Knicks into taking 28 three pointers, which they only made 7 of. Elton Brand led Philly, picking up a double-double on 24 points and 14 rebounds.

New York also featured Stephon Marbury on the bench in street clothes. Marbury, who didn't see any time in the Knicks' first game of the season, was placed on the inactive list prior to the game. Marbury reportedly requested to be placed on the inactive list after he was told he wouldn't be playing. He's earning every penny of that $21.9 million salary this season!

#1- there is no contract dispute. The knicks *cough cough Isiah Thomas* gave marbury a maximum contract for minimal work. Dantoni was not going to play Marbury cause he's a cancer so marbury asked to be put in the inactive list which just means that instead of suiting up he's in a suit on the bench. either way he wasn't going to play. It's either he gets 20 mil for wearing a knicks uniform on the bench not playing or 20 mil for wearing a suit on the bench not playing. The Knicks always overpay. they pay superstar money for either 2nd tier roleplayers of superstars past their prime.

Thanks goodness for the Rangers, the one NY team we can enjoy. Help me understand: there's some contract dispute so Marbury gets to sit AND gets paid? Puh-leeze. Baby.
