In 2002 John McCain was the first Senator to host Saturday Night Live. Since then he's returned to the studio to make appearances, and the Huffington Post now reports that he'll be back three days before the presidential election. His aides say he'll "make a detour from battleground states to the late-night weekend show," which he last appeared on in May. Expect lots of Joe the Plumber jokes, and an awkward McCain-Feylin skit. Earlier this month it was rumored that Barack Obama would make an appearance on the same night, so this could get catty!

That's what I call desperation. It ain't gonna happen, Johnny boy. Why don't you just save everyone a lot of trouble and rehearse your concession speech for SNL?
this is just SAD SAD SAD.
SNL is doing a 2 hour election special on Monday night with "special guests."
There's room for everyone's schill...
Give it a rest. He knows he's not going to win so this isn't desperation. It's not like McCain is just going to go home and wait this thing out. I don't remember Mondale doing that and he got stomped like a narc at a biker rally.
I guess in your book Obama going on the Daily Show was just a pleasant visit amongst friends and had nothing to do with trying to put the election away.
Oh, God. This is so "Me too!"
At least we know he can be kind of funny sometimes.
I think it would be great if both McCain and Obama are on SNL together—it seems too appropriate during this historic election.
Obama/Biden'08
Not Funny
Man, that picture looks like it was taken 20 years ago! McCain with jeans and a hat?
It'd be cool if they'd both appeared, I think.
I can't picture him not looking awkward, I mean he looks somewhat awkward on the everyday stuff he's suppose to have mastered after all these years of service.
The only sure winner on this is SNL.
