- From the Gothamist Newsmap: A traffic agent struck by a vehicle at 45th St & 13th Ave in Brooklyn, a jumper up on the BQE at the LIE in Queens and a white powder incident at Penn Plaza in Manhattan.
- A water main break at Chambers Street left a messy scene with street closures. NY1 says the closures are "Chambers Street eastbound from West Street to West Broadway and westbound from Greenwich Street to West Broadway. Worth Street is also closed between West Broadway to Church Street."
- The NJ Devils are not paying their first year's rent at the Prudential Center and claim, since the Center's opening was delayed, they are owed $800,000.
- Bizarre: CNBC's Charlie Gasparino got into a weird fight with colleague Dylan Ratigan on air.
- CityRoom chats with Heath Ledger's friends-restaurant partners about the late actor; one said, "He loved when anyone would react to him as a normal person. He really appreciated that."
- As Bravo and parent company NBC Universal battle it out with the Weinstein Company over Project Runway, Bravo is developing a reality show called "The Fashion Show," which is like Project Runway except viewers decide who goes and who stays.
- Corn-flavored ice cream, covered in chocolate, and served up in a cob-shaped wafer, probably won't make it to NYC anytime soon.
