Can we talk? Who is paying for this city lawsuit? I can think of about 5 million other things that could be done with taxpayer money than file lawsuits. I'm seeing a lot of empty storefronts around town. Perhaps Mr. Bloomberg, you should focus on getting stores into those empty buildings?

Don't forget (or maybe you never knew) that the OFHEO sued Raines and other officers at Fannie. The government (lamely) settled the charges in April, and because of their employment agreements, the fines were all paid by Fannie.

Several years ago I knew a girl who was buying cigarettes from Indian Reservations (she had been for several years) and not paying taxes. The IRS finally caught up with her and she owed something like $5,000. Had she used cash instead of credit she would have been scott-free, but she bought them over the web... I had thought that the tax issue was the individuals responsibility. Shouldn't MB go after Joe the Plumber, Joe the Lawyer, and/or Joe the Banker?

Yuck! What a bad idea to go after Native Americans for tax evasion. Can we please get a real mayor? First a prosecutor (Giuliani) then a corporate CEO. NYC is not just a business, its a polis, a community. Why doesn't he do something useful like advocate for affordable housing. Dumbass.
