Costumed Puppies Paraded Through the Park Today

Today was the sort of day rain dates were made for. After getting washed out yesterday, Tompkins Square Park had plenty of autumn sunshine for what is claimed to be the country's largest dog costume parade. Thousands of dollars in prizes including six iPods were given away to the owners of the winning dogs.

If all of this adorability overload has you itching to see some puppet-like pups in person, there's still time for The Canine Comedy Halloween Pet Costume Party benefiting the Humane Society tomorrow evening in Gramercy.

Them pups look cute but they don't look too happy.

awwwwwwwww

So we get like 15 pictures of trailer white trash people on the bike post but only 4 puppies? The first one being the cutest thing.... awwww.

@supernova--we're going to have lots of dogs in costumes for tomorrow, believe me!

They do this every Halloween in Carl Schurz Park. It's called the Halloween Howl. The costumes can be quite amazing.
