They say the prices ($10 for adults, $9 for students and seniors, and $8 for children 3-12 years old) include skate rental, but what about those of us who have a pair of hockey skates? I wonder if the synthetic surface can't take the sharp Canadian steel of proper skates.

The surface is almost certainly made of the panel and wax combination developed by Mitsubishi and already used in Japanese skating rinks.
