A Deity Grows in Queens

Usually these stories involve the Virgin Mary on a piece of toast, but The Daily News is reporting that the Hindu god Ganesh has now appeared in a flower in Queens! They report that a 60-year-old "New York City man is convinced the elephant-headed god" has grown from his amaranth plant, blessing and healing him. Crazy right? But the Queens Botanical Garden is also mystified by the unusual appearance of the plant, saying they have "never seen an amaranth take an elephant-like shape ... the trunk-like formation is not a natural thing.'' You are not Ganesha! Ganesha is graceful.

You know, it could just be a plain old elephant. Why does it always have to be a god or a prophet that shows up on plants or my burnt toast? Don't our god's have better things to do than to appear on objects and plants?

"Excuse me my children, instead of answering your prayers, I need to make an appearance in a vague like figure on the side of a tree"

I feel like this is a Magic Eye Ganesh--I see it only because I was told something was there. Otherwise, it looks like a plant.
