Big Wheel Rally Rules Central Park

This past Saturday, Newmindspace, the group behind the Bubble Battle and Pillow Fight, held the first NYC Big Wheel Race 2008 in Central Park. With directions like, "You'll need a helmet and other protective gear. Your vehicle's seat must, at its lowest point, be lower than 12 inches. That's low. Wheel size is open. Rubber wheels are strongly discouraged," a number of Big Wheel enthusiasts appeared in elaborate costumes to race down the hill.

Wow, bubble baths, pillow fights, big wheel races.........what's next, bed wetting?

how dare those crazy people have fun!

I'm sure Harley riders are impressed.

Agreed Outer! by God and Providence they should stay cooped up on sunny weekend days, spewing forth vitriol and hate on Gothamist! what fools these mortals be...

Bubble Bath, Pillow fight, Big wheel rally....sounds like the metrosexual olympics.

What's scheduled for next week, synchronized manicures?

No, synchronized homophobia is next week, ides. I hear you're the keynote speaker.

These kinds of events stopped being cute or funny years ago. While it's good to maintain a youthful vitality and promote outdoor play and exercise for America's young people, I see very little of those redeeming qualities in these increasingly pathetic exercises of prolonged childhood.

I don't see why getting sloshed and watching baseball at a bar is any more mature than this.

Isn't that what adults do?

I hope for the sake of everyone's children that adults don't forget how to be children themselves and can enjoy sharing these activities eventually.

I take care of my responsibilities, I put on my suit and tie. But then I break out the motherfarking Legos and build a fort.

No mention of the Making Strides walk on Sunday? Thousands of people raising millions of dollars?

Hey, I read my son Green Eggs and Ham every night before he goes to sleep. But I wouldn't be doing that unless I had a kid.
