THEATER: During those countless summer afternoons spent bench-pressing in the garage to the musical stylings of Poison, Twisted Sister, and Whitesnake, would you have ever dreamed those classics would become the score for a jukebox musical? Well, it's happening, bro! Rock of Ages casts a partially ironic eye on the hair band rock scene in Hollywood, circa 1987: "The final countdown is on for a lengendary Hollywood rock club facing its demise at the hands of eager developers. When a young rocker hungry for his big break and a small town girl chasing her dreams land on the scene at this infamous venue, how far will ambition drive them?" Michael Criscuolo says the show, which also features the songs of Journey, Bon Jovi, and Styx, "ain't nothin' but a good time." – John Del Signore
