Palin on SNL Countdown...

2008_10_palin3.jpgSarah Palin is currently at 30 Rock getting ready for her big (intentional) comedy debut tonight on SNL. There's no official word under what guise she'll appear or even if it will be alongside Tina Fey as expected, only that there were "multiple scripts" for Palin when she arrived. Those who caught Fey on The Late Show last night heard her fretting the possibility of being placed next to Palin because "she's pageant quality." And unlike the vice-presidential nominee, who finds the comedienne to be "a hoot," today a rally of supporters booed Fey when John McCain brought up her name. Palin may be wondering if Fey supporters in Studio 8H will give her as warm of a welcome tonight.

"With a whole lot of intensive de-programming, that this republican nonsense was just a terrible personal experience that needed resolution. "

Sounds like soviet style "psychiatry"... Is that what the Obamunist truth-squads are for?

  • NannyState

If she stuck around here a while longer, there's a good chance we could flip her. She's still fairly young and she still has her looks. With a whole lot of intensive de-programming, she might realize that this republican nonsense was just a terrible personal experience that needed resolution. It wouldn't be a complete transformation, however: there would of course be the amnesia that former hostages usually develop.

Palin did about as well as most politicians do; she played it relatively straight and didn't embarrass herself. She wasn't particularly funny, because she didn't do much more than seem amused by the hijinks.

Neo-liberal is a term used by conservatives who don't realize that neoconservativism is an actual (self-described) political movement that has controlled the country for nearly 8 years and failed spectacularly in every arena: foreign policy, economics, disaster management, unity, etc.

As a result, some conservatives now think that neoconservative is an insult made up by liberals, which is pretty damn funny.

She was totally pointless as always, a lame jokester and a even lamer politician.

But republicans find self fulfilled prophesies in these type of clowns. Every time a republican is asked why they like Plain, the can't produce a complete sentence backing her up. But they have plenty of words when victimizing her, for immense lack of gravitas or even coherence. Joe the plumber has gotten more interviews than her? she can not held an interview, and that's another of the decision Republicans make to hide their awful incompetence and their doubleness when it comes to criticizing "elitism" when it comes to ideas, but promoting elitism when it comes to money!

this is the republican truth by the mouth of their leader:

but the republicans in rural areas prefer to ignore that, because they are holding a front defending their own understanding of politics based on economic individualism , very old values of segregation/guns/supremacy and religious fear on others. -that is anything that means change regardless is for a greater civil good or not: stubborn, ignorant and proud of their role supporting the failed republican policies.

i think 'neo-liberalism,' 'liberal,' etc. means basically 'poopyhead.'

democrat: 'troopergate, bush tax cuts, deficit, iraq war, blah blah blah'

    republican: 'you're a poopyhead!'

  • drewo

Palin played along with the jokes well - and seemed to be a natural. Maybe she has a future as a broadcaster or talk show host. Amy Poehler's rap during the news was the best part.

    Neoliberalism is libertarianism.

    Huh?

  • Spirit of 76

No, scared to death that she may become the Vice President of OUR country!!

Worse than that. The odds of a man McCain's age living another four years aren't great. She could become President! Then she'd prove me wrong. I've said for years that we couldn't possibly do worse than Dubya. If she got in, her presidency could make Dubya look like Honest Abe or FDR.

  • joeb

I think the words do not mean what you think they mean. Neoliberalism is libertarianism.

"Secret Service debunked "Kill Bambi" claims as fake. "

FWIW, the USSS has also 'debunked' the claim of a McCain supporter saying "kill him" at a rally. Their debunking consists of "we didn't hear it".

    McCAIN/PALIN LOOP SOUP

Obama wants to redistribute the wealth!

    Isn't that a bitch!

That one's going to take dollars from the poor

And give them to the rich!

  • dr zippy

What is a "neo-lib"? Is there a neo-liberalism political movement or is neo-lib just a poorly defined term used as an insult by conservatives?

  • matty

I thought the opening sketch was meh.

The funniest part was mark wahlberg looking for andy samburg,

  • jpeditor

Palin rocked (and the audience LOVED her)!

  • seandabear

seriously? scared to death of Palin because she doesn't bow down to Hollywood...

    seriously?

No, scared to death that she may become the Vice President of OUR country!!

  • HUGO_MEGO

    Countdown?

I hope they boo Palin or just give complete silence..?

You neo-libs really have to grow up. Is SNL that important to you???? You are scared to death of Palin because she doesn't bow down to Hollywood??

Neo-lib political indoctrination at it's finest!

  • nik13

Secret Service debunked "Kill Bambi" claims as fake. Invent another "outrage".

  • Wza

I hope they boo Palin or just give complete silence when she makes her appearance.

  • Amanda Harletsch

Victimizing the racists is one of those spins Palin and McCain are good at. What about real leadership?

  • Spirit of 76

Booing Fey. "Kill" Obama. Boy, these McCain rally attendees are real pieces of work. Just waiting for ides_of_march and other GOP apologists.
