- From the Gothamist Newsmap: A car vs. building at Flatland Ave & E 58th St in Brooklyn, an animal rescue at Madison St in Queens, and a fatal person struck by a train at Lexington Ave & E 96th St in Manhattan.
- What does Jay-Z think about this: The NJ Sports Authority wants to keep the Nets in NJ.
- When a mother asked her son's school for a new evaluation of his progress, the Department of Education gave her a photocopy of an old evaluation instead.
- That Nevada resident arrested for bringing an explosive device in his checked luggage at MacArthur Airport yesterday? He admitted to wanting to "cause a giant smoke cloud, a flash of light and hopefully a loud noise."
- More word of energy scammers in Brooklyn--apparently some energy brokers are trying to put residents onto plans with other utilities (without the residents' authorization) and end up charging them more.
- Christie Brinkley's ex-husband is a such a sleaze that even his ex-mistress is annoyed he made a sex tape of them!

A "fatal person"! Good lord Jen, I can't believe you graduated from Columbia.
Note to self -- go home and burn CU diploma tonight -- it's clearly not worth anything any longer.
@MidCFrank--FWIW, I'm using terminology straight from the Newsmap: http://gothamist.com/labs/map
Well the cops don't know how to write -- so fix it!
Furthermore, what is the point of the newsmap? Unless you send a reporter and find out details, the information is basically useless. I am always curious about "unusual incidents" and other intriguing titles, but we never learn the real story.
i agree, a fatal person makes no sense whatsoever
MidCFrank (& all other grammar/spelling nazis) before you post about errors, take a minute & go go fuck yourself & spare us your drivel.
i am going to go ahead and agree with zodak
I guess only Muslims get prosecuted under the Patriot Act for poor judgment.
..."federal prosecutors and FBI agents do not believe Nobles was bent on terrorism, but, at the very least, displayed poor judgment."
the incident is "person struck by a train" and it was "fatal", just like when the police say fatal "car accident"
You nitpicky dbags need to give up the free starbucks wifi and get yourselves some lives.
"Fatal person" is perfect. It has so many layers and that's exactly what I look for in a sub-educable cop's childish handwriting.
