Today will be the last time the ocean liner the Queen Elizabeth 2 leaves New York (she is destined to be part of a "permanently moored hotel and entertainment complex" in Dubai). She arrived this morning with the Queen Mary 2, under the Verrazano, and they sailed by the Statue of Liberty. You can see the QE 2 and Queen Mary 2 depart their berths at 5 p.m. from a number of locations, like Battery Park, Robert Wagner, Jr Park, and Hudson River Park--here are details from Cunard. The ships will "rendezvous" near the Statue of Liberty--and there will be fireworks!

Surprise boatsex!
goodbye elizabeth 2! I never ever saw you cause I'm poor but whatever.
Poor? Weren't you bragging about pulling a couple of hundred thousand dollars out of the bank and having several residences in places like the Village (or maybe it was Tribeca)? Oh, I get it. You were lying. Shucks. So rich people really don't have the time nor inclination to comment 15-20 times a day on Gothamist?
It isn't fair, Britain builds three of the world's most luxurious ocean liners, and yet we don't get to keep any of them after they retire... Queen Mary's stuck out in California, Queen Elizabeth sank in Honk King harbor and was scrapped, and now the QE2 is sailing off to the bloody United Arab Emirates.
No justice.
