Days after seven Columbia University students were attacked near campus, the police have announced four arrests. Surveillance cameras captured possible suspects who apparently struck at five different locations. According to WNBC, "the suspects as 16-year old DeShaun Busby, 16-year-old Quentin Cox, 17-year-old Lawrence Jones and 18-year-old Jan Germosen" and "all face charges of gang assault." The police are continuing to look for other suspects.

They were just overly enthusiastic ACORN volunteers trying to register a few last minute voters in the Asian community. All a misunderstanding you see, they were simply reaching out. It's racist of you to believe otherwise.
I ♥ video camera justice.
Gang assault? How about HATE CRIME.
For every five or six the cops pick up, twenty more are still roaming the streets...
DeShaun?
#4- C'mon now, gang violence is not as prevalent as it was in the 80's and 90's. Now it's mostly dumb teenagers, back then it was 30 year olds and shit. I blame the NYPD for sweeping up all the asian gangs in the early 90's. back then people were scared of asians. You never knew if they were frying dragons or ghost shadows or BTK. Now the asians have been clockwork oranged by the authorities and left defenseless.
where is the hate crime charges?????
Hate crime? I'm sure it was just coincidence that most of the people they ran into were Asian. Let's not turn this into a racial issue, please.
Props for at least one having a first name starting with De, Da, La, or Le.
if the thugs doing the beatings were white or asian i'm sure they would so pull the race card and charge them with hate crimes.
if it wasn't a hate crime, how come no black kids getting beaten by those kids?????
#6 gang violence is much worse than the 80s and early 90s. You have been reading too many true crime novels to think otherwise. It is a huge problem.
You can just smell the desperation of ides and TSOL...
but back in the 80's we didn't have surveillance cameras everywhere. these were clear nightime vids.
is there crime on the riverside drive side of CU?
now all cops gotta do is ask for the videotape and case is solved.
Can a group of 16yo even be considered a gang? What harm can they really do? They're just kids.
Tar Baby
The typical soldier in the American Revolution was 16 years old.
Did you read about the attacks Tar Baby? Maybe you get off on having twelve stitches in the head and stitches in the mouth but most people don't enjoy it.
"Can a group of 16yo even be considered a gang? What harm can they really do? They're just kids."
Uhhhh....where have you been lately? The only people I ever see/experience mugging and attacking others on the streets of NY are teenagers.
Those kids parents are probably no where to be found as well or don't even know where their children are.
Steven
That's the problem. We need blood guilt laws. Parents should be fully responsible for the crimes of their children, no matter what the severity.
Your child does the crime, and you do the time.
See these were probably just some teen punks, if they were gang members the assaults would be much bloodier and worse.
These are the kind of teen punks that are the result of bad parenting or lack of.
My question is indeed, where are the parents?
Also, a good Louisville Slugger would have done the job against them.
Tar Baby is being sarcastic geniuses...
Hate crime charges?
"Gang assault" is simply an assault committed by three or more people. There doesn't have to be any organized "gang," in the Crips and Bloods sense, involved.
I bet these kids parents will sue the city for their own kids disobedience, i mean the schools should of done a better job of keeping their attention and prevent them from the falling through the cracks. Sue the city !!!!
Wickedson...Can you read my mind too?
Why would these kids be charged with a hate crime? Doesn't everyone know yet that black people aren't capable of being racist since they are not empowered?
Garbage kids like these are the reason there used to be trapdoors over the East River. Might I suggest a "Back To The Future" field prosecution?
