Bush and Clinton Together!

2008_10_bushclint10.jpg

Not that Bush or Clinton--just the ex-presidents George H. W. Bush (41) and Bill Clinton. The two men, who formed that Bush-Clinton Coastal Recovery Fund last month, toured Hurricane Ike damage on Galveston Island. The Houston Chronicle reports that Bush described the scene as "abject devastation."

Former Secretary of State James Baker (and a major player in the Florida doings during the 2000 election) said they hoped to raise more than the $1.5 million they had, but added, "These are not the best times in the world to raise money." Yet Clinton said, "I think we can get money. You look at how much money has been given to both political parties in the last six weeks. People do care."

And Senator Hillary Clinton is in Hempstead, at Hofstra to watch John McCain and Barack Obama debate at 9 p.m. (EST). Can you believe the election season is almost drawing to an end?

@glennQNYC - I know--they worked on Katrina aid together. But I just thought the timing--on the day of the final debate--was interesting.

Clinton: Woo! I'd like to toss that girl's salad!

Bush: What? I don't see any salad bar!

Come on Jen! These two have been working together for quite a while. This isn't the first topic they have banded together to work on.

They look like two card sharps sizing up some suckers.

As for the Left-Right paradigm, they both belong to the Capitalist Party. I don't see much left or right going on.
