Tavern on the Green has so much going for it: unique location, lots of space, etc... but for YEARS the food has been mediocre at best, and the decor manages to be both shabby and tacky at the same time. The place needs a serious overhaul. I'm not saying that someone else should take it over, but if this Jenny Oz person does manage to hold onto it, she needs to do more with the place than she is currently doing.

By all accounts Jenny is a really nice person. I hope she manages to rustle up the cash because the place is especially meaningful to her and her family. I would hate to see Trump or the Meyer-Bots running that show. A partnership with Nieporent might not be a bad idea, though. TotG deserves to be taken to the next level; it's a magical NYC landmark and while I would never want it to fall into the wrong hands, I could see it having a future as a reinvigorated destination restaurant for NYers, not just for the tourists.

The only thing that will generate enough revenue for this location is a Starbuck's. Yay!! more Starbucks in NY!! We need more.....

why not another danny meyer shake shack? the man knows quality. sure it's overhyped but it's not like I go to tavern on the green everyday. Look at it this way, the more shake shacks that open the less crowded the lines will be on each one. how about a motherfucking Peter luger? why is there only one?

Tavern on the Green is pretty crappy. About the only thing it has going for it is nostalgic history.
