Last Night's Action: Wins For Everyone

• Rangers 4, Flyers 3: The Rangers, 4-0, are off to their best start in 25 years after defeating the Flyers on Saturday. New York got all their scoring done by the end of the first period and backup goalie Stephen Valiquette held off Philly in his first start of the season. With the win, Valiquette is 5-1-1 against the Flyers.

  In Pennsylvania, stumping for votes, Sarah Palin, the hockey mom from Alaska, dropped the ceremonial first puck before the game to a mixture of boos and cheers. Rangers center Scott Gomez, a native of Alaska, exchanged quick embrace and kiss with the Alaskan governor.
  

• Islanders 5, Blues 2: While Rick DiPietro has been cleared to play after offseason knee surgery, the Isles' rookie coach Scott Gordon hasn't started him in a game yet. In Saturday's home opener for New York, the team picked up its first win behind backup goalie Joey MacDonald.
  
• Devils 2, Penguins 1 (OT): The Devils chucked 49 shots at the net and only two got past Penguins goalie Marc-Andre Fleury. Picking up the win, Martin Brodeur, only saw 15 shots on goal from the Penguins.
