I'd rather just extend the mayorship by one year during this crisis, so we don't have to watch another election campaign spending bonanza. Then let the chips fall where they may when the year's up.

Then Albany or the City Council should pass a law placing a cap on campaign spending. Then it would make it more difficult for moguls to run away with the city.
