Two psychiatrists have found David Tarloff, who killed an Upper East Side psychiatrist in February, unfit to stand trial. But the NY Times reports that his lawyer Bryan Konski wants a "more complete examination" by another court-appointed psychiatrist (two court-appointed psychiatrists made the unfit assessment), claiming that Tarloff "had been medicated before being examined." Konski is worried that his client, a schizophrenic who killed the office mate of the psychiatrist who diagnosed him with the illness 17 years ago (that psychiatrist was seriously injured in the attack), will be sent to a facility "where he would be medicated until he was found fit." Konski said his Tarloff, who is on suicide watch, is "a mess. Worse than I have ever seen him.”

But he was "fit" enough to have been out in the streets to begin with. Community Mental Health and the shrinks that promote its false hopes are both to blame for this incident and so many others that destroy lives needlessly.
I'm finding I have no sympathy for this man, despite his mental illness. Sorry.
Eliminate the suicide watch and see if he really is unfit for trial. Time will tell.
So wait, we have to pay to keep another Psychotic murderer alive?? Great, now maybe our tax dollars can get us murdered, as soon as he sucks up enough of it to be "fit", gotta love it.
Here's a new a suicide watch idea;
Mix 1 part 10ft rope with 1 part shaky wooden chair, 2 parts Strong wooden beam, shake vigorously, serve chilled.

Youbetcha! (wink wink!)
Whoever summarized this article read it incorrectly. Tarloff had originally been fit to stand trial, but his attorney requested another evaluation. Subsequently he has been found, by two court-appointed shrinks, unfit to stand trial. The article goes on to say that the prosecution may or may not challenge that.
@shoshannah-- Yes, it's been a long road--I've noted that before that he was found unfit after being found fit earlier this year.
"But the NY Times reports that his lawyer Bryan Konski wants a "more complete examination" by another court-appointed psychiatrist (two court-appointed psychiatrists made the unfit assessment), claiming that Tarloff "had been medicated before being examined." "
That says to me that he was found unfit to stand trial, and his attorney still wants another evaluation.
Since he's unfit for trial, that means he's unfit for society. Execution. Finished.
I get him and braunstein mixed up.
