I salute you Lt. Pigott, you did the right honorable thing.

Too bad you have never done a right, honorable thing in your life, including having respect for the dead.

I don't understand why the Reverend recounted the "I'm not a desk person" story. If it was any factor at all in the suicide, that would take away some respect for the man. Untold tens of millions of people go their whole lives working jobs they don't like. But they don't commit suicide. I sure hope the thought of not being a cop wasn't part of the reason he killed himself.

ST. Michael, Heaven's glorious Commissioner of Police, who once so neatly and successfully cleared GOD's premises of all it's undesireables,

look with kindly and professional eye on your earthly force.

Give us cool heads, stout hearts, hard punches, an uncanny flair for investigation and wise judgement.

Make us the terror of burglars, the friend of children and law-abiding citizens, kind to strangers, polite to bores, strict with law breakers and impervious to temptations.

You know, ST. Michael, from your own experiences with the devil that the policeman's lot on earth is not always a happy one; but your sense of duty that so pleased God, your hard knocks that so surprised the Devil, and your Angelic self-control give us inspiration.

And when we lay down our nightsticks, enroll us in your Heavenly Force, where we will be as proud to guard the throne of GOD as we have been to guard the city of men.

AMEN....

This is pretty tragic from all angles, and for the officer to commit suicide a few days later shows that he was obviously a decent feeling person. I can't imagine how terrible he must have felt, especially with the beating he took in the media. I really hope they both find peace wherever they are now.

that would be me,
a cop's cop means if a person need persuasion or adjustment, he'll look the other way.
I salute you Lt. Pigott, you did the right honorable thing.

They mean that he set an example of what a cop should be.

That's all.

And I'm sure all the cophaters will pounce on that in.. 1.. 2..

I do feel bad for this guy. He made a HUGE mistake - a terrible lapse in judgment. Obviously there were other issues involved here if he ended up doing to himself what he did. He must have been under terrible stress.

However, what's a "cop's cop"? I'd prefer to hear that someone was the "public's cop" since they're here to serve us, not other police officers.
