Jets Want Fans to Pony Up Green for Best Seats

Although the Jets gave their fans a partial reprieve from personal seat licenses by not including upper deck season ticket holders in the scheme, the Jets are charging PSLs for 2,000 of the best seats in the new, under-construction stadium. The Jets have launched a new TV ad to entice fans--and it includes a familiar face:

Uh-huh: The Donald (Jets owner Woody Johnson is friends with him). Jets vice-president Matt Higgins tells the Post the ad is meant to tell fans buying "Coaches Club" seats" that they "may be sitting next to Donald Trump or they may be sitting next to a guy who has been a fan for 30 years." The Jets are auctioning off the PSLs on Stubhub.com (starting next week), with a starting price of $5,000, and after the PSL, tickets will cost $700/pop.

I'm not able to watch the video here at work, but just reading that Trump is in the ad says to me that only the very wealthy will be able to afford these seats.

This is just disgusting. They have not won shit since 1969. The team underachieves every year. Ownership then employs this muppet to shill for them? I hope the new stadium is deserted.

Arrogant comb over clown

Thinks hes so smart...cept he ain't

Rich people having a party at a sports event will be the new thing.

Everything nowadays always has to be about "luxury".

I don't expect that very many of these seats will go to individuals.

Its likely that corporations and law firms will be buying up blocks of seats to give away as perks for employees or clients in addition to the box seats. So if you are a fan count on sitting next to a string of schmucks who will have their blackberries glued to their ears the entire game.

Just knowing he would be in the stadium would make me a Giants fan.

No I wasn't expecting Joe Namath, I was expecting something a little more classier given the amount of money it would cost to see a game. I'll it at home and watch it without the crowds.
