They are not rounding up strays to bring here. These are dogs that have been adopted by and spent time with our soldiers over there. You can't expect them to just abandon them. They already have permanent homes here before they leave.

Our government doesn't pay to ship the dogs back. D'uh. It's all private donations and donated frequent flyer miles. Get a grip. Find out the real back story and THEN gripe, if you want to.

we euthanize kill dogs (and cats) in local shelters daily. we don't really have any business rescuing dogs abroad when we are not rescuing those that are already here.

Naw I wouldn't shoot them. But I wonder what Iraqis think about us treating their stray dogs better than we treat them. We bring home strays and leave informants to die. what a joke.

I don't get it. Rabies has a nearly 100% mortality rate in dogs and an incubation period of up to 3 months. What would vaccinating one month before transport accomplish?
