I was lucky enough to once get tour through an Ohio class missile sub. Freakin' awesome.

and when you're there go take the tour of the Growler. that sub is tiny compared to the carrier. if you're claustrophobic and don't like hopping over hatches, try at your own risk. they make you go through a mock hatch to make sure you can fit.

I believe the Intrepid goes back to WWII and also space craft recovery in the sixties as well as Vietnam.

We were surprised by it while eating on the patio behind the Red Hook Fairway. It was AMAZING to see, especially as it passed by the Statue of Liberty. I wonder though, does my 3 year old son think this kind of thing happens at the grocery store all the time?
