The Nassau County Highway Patrol saw a number of cars street-racing on the Long Island Expressway at speeds of over 100 mph, "weaving across several lanes of traffic," according to Newsday. The police chased the drivers, and when they pulled them over, one of the drivers--Anil Isaac of Queens-- had the vanity license plate "HEYOFFCR"! Isaac, along with brothers Ziad and Riad Mohamed and Rajesh Prashaud, were arrested and charged with reckless endangerment and reckless driving. They apparently claimed they had been drag racing on Route 231; their cars, a BMW, Nissan, and Infiniti were impounded.

Big deal. They will just go out and buy another car. Quality imports to say the least.
This sentence makes no sense.
What is it with Indians and Perto Ricans and racing shitty small sedans with tons of after-market accessories? For a while there, I stopped using the hudson parkway because it was like trying to get back into town under attack from shriners in go karts doing their routines on crank.
(Puerto)
Some of these cars are more souped up than the usual rice rocket you'll find on the streets. They spent a lot of money and time on these cars.
"They apparently claiming they had been drag racing on Route 231 and their cars were impounded."
I agree with #2. This sentence sounds like it was written by a high school drop out. Journalistic standards, like every thing else these days, are in the toilet.
"We had the last laugh," Repalone said.
Except for the 6 of 10 that got away.
FTA:
"The drivers told police they were returning from a night of drag racing on Route 231,
Three of the cars had windshield stickers that read "Place Ticket Here," with an arrow pointing to a spot under the windshield wipers, police said."
What d-bags. "I was returning home from a Church Social, sir" is the proper answer.
"Three of the cars had windshield stickers that read "Place Ticket Here," with an arrow pointing to a spot under the windshield wipers, police said."
Place ticket here? Because you get a lot of parking tickets? Whoa daddy - if I ever go to prison I want you to have my back!
More idiots living on this planet. If you want to speed go on a race track. Glad to hear these idiots didn't take someone life.
@9
I'm not aware of any inside a 4 hr drive.
There's one out in Riverhead on Long Island.
1.5 hour drive.
@10
There are 5 road courses, and at least 3 drag strips within the said 4 hour drive of the NYC metro.
Gotta pay to play. If they didn't know that before, they do now.
That's an oval. The dragways and road courses have all closed because of NIMBY.
It's all fun and games until someone loses a B-Mer.
Once again, I thank god my parents didn't drag our family to the boondocks like the other Indian lemmings.
No wonder Indian-American girls go husband hunting with their parents in the Old Country. Look at the douche-bags they have here.
BTW, I thank god I'm gay.
Thinktwice, I do believe you fcking rock, sir.
Felix you are wrong about closed strips. Here is one.

Re: [16]
Thank you! :D
All the cops have to do to nip this sort of shit early is go hit the Deer Park LIE station every friday and saturday night.
It's like doucheville in the parking lot.
Edge are you crazy? Then they would be doing their job and not get overtime for not doing their job.
See what happens when Mom and Dad's little restaurant is a success?
@10 and 13 again
- Watkins Glen (road course) is exactly 4 hours, the last 2 times I raced there.
- NHIS/ NHMS/ whatever the hell it's called this week ('nother road course) is just at 4 hours away.
- Lime Rock (yet another road course) is a bit under 2 hours.
- New Jersey Motorsports Park (new Road Course in NJ) is a bit more than 2 hours out.
- Raceway Park (1/4 mile drag strip and new road course) is a bit more than an hour away.
- Atco Raceway (1/4 drag strip) is also 2 hours away.
- And then there's the 1/8 mile BS in NJ.
So, to recap, that's 3 drag strips, and 5 road courses (not an oval) within 4 hours of NYC. So now, what was this BS you were talking about only being an oval, and being closed because of NIMBY?
Yeah, apparently passing gas isn't the only thing that your a** talks about.
Like I said... 7 total outlets to get their gun off (so to speak), and instead they got caught on the LIE.
Gotta pay to play.
Correction, the 1/8 mile BS is in Riverhead.
I stand corrected, although I recall 4 hrs to Lime Rock on my last trip, and even 4 to WG is pushing it.
Double those travel times to NJ from East of the city, though. Not exactly day trips.
I'm not defending these punks but there's not much left on this side since Bridgehampton and Westhampton closed.
