Why not link to the earlier story on Gothamist? It surely appears that "ist" was lying about the incident in comment 4 since Hansen admits he did everything he was accused of.

Even when I really liked baseball and the Mets I deeply hated Mr. Met. He's got to be the least imaginative idea for a mascot in baseball history. Messing with the kids is out of line, though.
