Reminds me of the dorms in college. I put up some very controversial stuff and it was respected. I think that co-ops aside, just don't live next door to cranky old people.

Too many control freaks around. I have a friend in a Jersey town who can't even put up lawn decorations without approval. It's outside! It's his own property! Talk about ridiculous.

the not funny thing is that there is probably someone reading this, or maybe even somone you know, that takes issue with door decorations. I really really hope I don't know anyone like this!

I don't see the harm in a little door decor. Most building hallways are dull anyway, and i'm sure #1's would really liven things up. But who cares? Do we really need a door decor police...get over your selves co-op boards.

My feeling about decorations is that unless they are patently offensive, they should be allowed. If my next door neighbor gets to decorate in time for his BS mythology's holiday then I get to decorate in celebration of mine (or lack thereof).

#1 . . . Funny as your suggest may seem to some, it's right on. These types of issues should be handled by the parties involved. Fuck a co-op board. Hard to imagine paying that kind of money for something you don't truly own, then to constantly have ridiculous terms dictated.

Thank god. If a neighbor's door decorations really get on my nerves, I'll usually just do up my own door in gay porn and it seems to get everyone in the mood to negotiate.
