Ladies' Night Discrimination Lawsuit Thrown Out

093008ladynite.jpgInfamously litigious Ladies' Night foe Roy Den Hollander got bounced from federal court yesterday by judge Miriam Cedarbaum, who rejected his lawsuit against several nightclubs for discriminating against men with their discounts for females. Hollander denounced Cederbaum as "a feminist" and told the Daily News that "this lawsuit would have put an end to guys financially subsidizing girls to party at nightclubs." The judge ruled that private clubs can charge as much as they want and dismissed Hollander's claim that a precedent was set in the '60s when two women successfully sued McSorley's after being denied alcohol. (One Daily News commenter theorizes that Den Hollander simply "hates not being a woman. He wants to be in the bars with all men to get his grease on.") His lawsuit against Columbia for offering women's study courses is still pending.

If he won the lawsuit all the nightclubs would be sausage parties. Though most of them are already.

Why aren't women fighting to end crap like this? All "ladies nights" are intended to do is lure in more men with the promise that because women get in for free and/or receive reduced price drinks, there will be more of them to skeez on. I understand some women enjoy this game and play it to their benefit (more power) but just as many don't seem to get it and only end up being taken advantage of.

Disco Stew loves the drunken ladies!

Agreed Peter. I'm tired of going to clubs or bars that have a 3:1 / fellatio ratio.

Roy Den Hollander Is just a Misogynist Closeted Homosexual who has problems attracting the opposite sex. Perhaps he should try a different pickup line, or try using Deodorant.

disco stu doesn't advertise!

I'm going to start an Eggplant Night at my bar, where black people can get in with food stamps.

Let's see how they like that.

Hollander is only an "anti-feminist" because he got burned big-time in his divorce. He's really just a douche. He isn't out for equality; he just wants to punish women for personal reasons.

I think that Roy-boy is actually right here. The clubs offer a service (entry & music) and a product (drinks). How can they offer the same product and service at different prices based on gender? How about race, age, height, weight, or favorite color? This is a load of BS.
Maybe they shouldn't offer women equal salaries if they don't have the same expenses!?!?

Guys would probably be more inclined to spend more money if drink prices were reduced for them instead.

The only people who care about reverse discrimination in this case are guys who've never gotten over on a drunk chick in a bar. I am happy to subsidize the fairer sex's alcohol consumption if I can cop a feel or even better now and then.

Really, if the concept of ladies night upsets this manly-man to the point of taking legal action, just stay out of the bars that offer it, it's that simple pinhead! And as for calling the judge a feminist, i think she's just a realist, she saw this law suit for what it is...lame, and an incredible waste of time, money and her intelligence.
