New York Got Medieval this Weekend

Lords and Ladies, did you attend the Medieval Festival & Renaissance Faire this past weekend? Incase you missed it, here are some images from the event, in which Manhattan's Fort Tryon Park was transformed into a medieval market town!

In other Medieval news (seriously!), the writing team of Thom Woodley, Matt Yeager and Bob McClure (who you know from The Burg) created a bunch of shorts based around Renaissance Faire employees called All's Faire (video), based on their feature screenplay of the same name. They tell us that after releasing the shorts and passing it along to some Hollywood types...Hollywood turned right around and developed their own Renaissance Faire flick titled All's Faire in Love, starring Christina Ricci. Perhaps the two groups could settle this with a joust?

that bird in the 2nd picture is the size of a pterodactyl.

that bird is a south american condor. i forgot what country it's from.

Huzzah! See annoying theater people for a mere $35 entrance fee!

The Renaissance Faire was free.

Not the one in Sterling Forest, good sir!

how appropriate as we're going back to medieval times with the wall st. crisis... I'll try to get a cow and some chickens in my apt to survive!

In related news, the skinny weird guy named Demitrius in 3-B still hasn't gotten laid.

"Dungeons And Dragons is the best! It got me these great friends, these really cool clothes, and now I have an exciting career making chain mail armor!"

Weird that everyAframe and NannyState are angry at people who have a hobby they enjoy, are happy, and are not hurting anyone. What is it you are hoping to accomplish by being so negative?

Zodak- that is not a condor. an average condor's wingspan is over 6 ft- that is a turkey vulture.

Why didn't Gothamist tell us about the Faire before it occurred instead of after?

Too late to attend now.

sorry self h8ta, but it is an andean condor & if you don't believe me you can contact Earth Quest, the people who provided the birds.

If Christina Ricci were starring in the film you linked to, wouldn't her name appear somewhere on the IMDB page? And wouldn't this film appear somewhere on hers?

Perhaps judgment was impaired by the thought of the combination of Matthew Lillard, Cedric the Entertainer, and Bill Engvall.

dr zippy, doth thee challenge thy to a duel?
