Cloudy End to September

Ignore that last forecast! One storm went left, the other went right and the city barely got any rain over the weekend. The mix of sun and clouds we've seen today should switch over to mostly clouds by late-afternoon as a weak cold front passes by. There's a slight chance that the front's passage will kick off a shower or two, especially over Long Island.

This particular front won't bring much cooling as tomorrow should again warm to the lower 70s. That will leave September about 1.5 degrees warmer than average. Rainfall is way over normal for the month. Don't expect to see any sun tomorrow as clouds will be building up in advance of another cold front late Tuesday night. That front is likely to bring rain through Wednesday morning. Wednesday's high is up for grabs. Somewhere from the upper 60s to lower 70s, depending on how far the cold air lags behind the front.

More certain is that Thursday will bring cooler, drier air to the region on Thursday. Look for sunny skies and daytime temperatures in the 60s from Thursday through the weekend.

It's fitting that there are black clouds looming over Wall St. today.
